Date: 27-Nov-2000 Poet: Khwaja Razi Haider We start this week with a ghazal by a relatively new poet whose book "Be-dayaar Shaam" was published in 1995. Today's ghazal was contributed by Irfan, who very rightly points me towards lesser known but good poets who somehow missed the spotlight. kis liye raqs dikhaataa huu.N mujhe kyaa maaluum mai.n to bas vaqf-e-tamaashaa huu.N mujhe kyaa maaluum [raqs = dance; vaqf = foundation/basis] kaisaa hangaamaa baraabar ke makaa.N me.n hai muqiim mai.n to Khud shor me.n rahataa huu.N mujhe kyaa maaluum [muqiim = resident] ek Khurshiid se mansuub hai.n din raat mere dhuup huu.N yaa ko_ii saayaa huu.N mujhe kyaa maaluum [Khurshiid = Sun; mansuub = fixed/appointed] aag hai yaa ko_ii gul_zaar tah-e-shaaKh-e-chiraaG Khaak huu.N Khaak me.n rahataa huu.N mujhe kyaa maaluum [tah = below; shaaKh = branch] ko_ii rut ho merii taqdiir hai bahate rahanaa vaqt huu.N ashk huu.N dariyaa huu.N mujhe kyaa maaluum [dariyaa = river] mujh ko ik aa.Nkh liye phiratii hai galiyo.n galiyo.n kaun huu.N kyaa huu.N kahaa.N kaa huu.N mujhe kyaa maaluum aa.Nkh se kis kii mai.n ojhal huu.N sar-e-bazm "Razi" aur kis ko nazar aataa huu.N mujhe kyaa maaluum [ojhal = invisible; sar-e-bazm = in the gathering/amidst people]
